Manoj Berry spent 15 years in advertising, eventually heading two of the biggest companies in the domain – JWT and Y&R – in India. Brands he was responsible for include Chesebrough Pond’s cosmetics, Brook Bond teas and Kwality ice creams (Unilever group), Boost milk additive (GSK), Citibank (retail products), Escorts-Ford (tractors), Yamaha and Hero Honda (motorcycles) and Suzuki (cars).

After the liberalization of the Indian economy, he helped create and execute the entry strategies of KFC, AT&T into the subcontinent, and also represented India in a global exercise to reposition Lufthansa.

Over these years Manoj learnt what advertising can, and more importantly, cannot do – the latter being instrumental in his founding Embrand.

Manoj believes that brands from the East can play a key role in creating a more equitable global economic order, and has developed and delivered courses on the subject at Times School of Marketing, Delhi, and SPJ Centre of Management, Dubai and Singapore.
